Licensing and Ordination

This is another section of the constitution that will remain largely unchanged. The language for our first draft looks like this:

By majority vote of the congregation a member of the church who meets the qualifications of elder as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 may be licensed or ordained to the pastoral ministry. Licenses for Christian ministry other than pastoral ministry may be similarly granted by the congregation to members whose testimony and gifts evidently qualify them for such.

If at any time the licensed or ordained person leaves the ministry or no longer subscribes to our essential beliefs, he must relinquish the license or ordination.
